Abstract
Digital transformation in laboratories is not just a matter of technology—it is fundamentally about people. This presentation highlights the crucial role of human dynamics in the success or failure of digital initiatives. Based on real-world experiences, it explores how factors such as trust, resistance to change, communication, and early engagement significantly impact transformation efforts. A people-centric approach is introduced, focusing on transparent collaboration, shared ownership, and the importance of aligning teams around a common vision. Instead of presenting a technical roadmap, the session offers practical methods to empower transformation teams, including the use of the “Discuss Out” principle for building consensus and answering the key question: “What’s in it for me?” By shifting the focus from systems to people, this presentation makes clear that sustainable digital transformation is driven by mindset, leadership, and strong team dynamics.
