Abstract:

The Global Bioprocessing & Biotechnology Summit 2026 brings together leading experts, innovators and decision-makers from across the biopharma and biotechnology industry in Berlin on May 21–22. Sebastian Gross

Dr. Sebastian Groß is a consultant at wega Informatik (Deutschland) GmbH, specializing in smart laboratory automation, instrument integration, laboratory digitalization, and data management.
With a background in biotechnology, he combines a deep understanding of biological systems with strong technical expertise. During his PhD, he designed and built a high‑throughput bioprocess development platform, developed mechanistic bioprocess models, and integrated both into an autonomous screening system.

Since joining wega in November 2021, he has focused on enabling efficient, connected, and intelligent laboratory environments. His work centers on integrating robotics, digital workflows, and data‑driven decision‑making to advance modern lab operations and support organizations on their path toward Smart Labs.
