Abstract:
The Paperless Lab Academy Europe 2026 is a leading conference dedicated to digital transformation, data integrity and innovation in modern laboratories. Bringing together experts from life sciences, pharmaceuticals and technology, the event focuses on strategies for building connected, paperless and highly efficient lab environments. Through expert presentations, case studies and interactive discussions, participants will explore topics such as LIMS, automation, AI and data-driven laboratory operations. The conference provides a collaborative platform for industry professionals to exchange practical experiences and learn about the latest trends shaping the future of scientific research and quality-controlled environments. With its strong focus on real-world implementation and knowledge sharing, Paperless Lab Academy Europe is a key meeting point for organizations driving laboratory digitalization. wega will participate to connect with industry peers and discuss innovative approaches to transforming laboratory processes.

Our Presentation:
Title: Unlocking Lab Data: Purpose-Driven Paths towards FAIRification and Digital Labs
Speaker: Annika Hantusch
Abstract:
Innovation and efficiency across life sciences depend on lab data that is findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR). Yet, many R&D organizations and research labs struggle to translate 'FAIR' into practicable solutions.
This talk translates the deeply intertwined aspects of FAIR into real-world examples. We draw on industry experience with digital lab ecosystems - ELNs (electronic lab notebooks), LIMS (laboratory management systems), instruments, integration - and share lessons learned. Attendees leave with a clear understanding of FAIR's relevance and implications, plus actionable approaches to data FAIRification on a local vs. global scale.
